Anybody looking for a good place to find movie reviews should check out http://www.pluggedin.com. It breaks down everything in the movie from the positives to the negatives as well as the type of content and language in it. This is definitely a good place to go to before seeing a movie especially if there are certain things you don’t want to hear or see in that movie. Not only that, but you can check out movies that your kids would want to watch, and you can see if they are appropriate for them. And it isn’t just for movies, they have reviews on other things such as TV shows, videos, and music. Check it out.

Well, I have been working pretty hard the last two weeks to learn all about this blogging experience. I didn’t want to just write something, I wanted the site to be more than that. Something that people would want to come back to, to read about something, post about something and just plain enjoy the site. That’s why I put under my name: Read. Post. Enjoy. It’s that simple. But I have had one main problem and that is that I have not had many visitors and no one has posted one comment yet so if you reading this, just tell me what you think of the site. Obviously it’s not going to be a yahoo or google but I do hope people like it and come back every now and then. And for any page whether health, asthma, jokes, or quotes, I encourage people to post something. So, once again, give your opinion on the site, tell me how I can make it better or just post something on one of the pages. Take Care, Im out.

What are you thankful for?

I once again want to take the time and pose the question, “what are you thankful for?” With Thanksgiving less than two weeks away, many of us will sit down around the dinner table with loved ones and enjoy a nice meal. In our family, we usually pray and then dig in, but we really don’t talk about the things we’re thankful for. I guess that’s just how our family is. So, I again ask, “what are you thankful for?” You may be like our family and just eat and enjoy each others company which to me is totally fine or you may do something totally different but what I wonder is, as an individual, what are the things you are most grateful for. Take time out of your busy week, maybe just five minutes and write the things down on a piece of paper that you cherish and bring you joy. Share them with your family or just hold onto them for yourself but please try to find things that you are thankful for, it’ll put a smile on your face.

Never Give Up

This is a word of encouragement to everyone going through a tough time right now. I want to tell you not to give up, there are better days around the corner. You may be struggling and the struggle may have gone on for a short time or a long time, I have know idea, but I do know that God has a plan for each and everyone of us. You may or may not believe this but it is true and the dark days that you may be going through will pass in time. I have personally gone through many dark times in my life, only to come out a better person. In fact, I am going through one of those times right now but I am confidect that this season will come to an end and a new, great season is around the corner. So, I say to everyone, whatever your going through, keep on going and do not give up, the sun will shine and those clouds in your life will part. It’s okay to hurt, we are only human and have emotions but to let those emotions drag you down so that you can’t move on is not good.

Adopt a shelter dog

I urge anyone who is thinking about getting a dog whether for Christmas or any other reason to seriously think about getting a shelter dog. I know it may not be exactly what you want but take it from someone who has rescued two dogs from the pound that it is worth it. Not only is it cheaper, which I guess shouldn’t matter but it does, but they seem to be so much better than dogs that are bread. I probably will get flack for this by people that breed dogs for a living but I really don’t care. There are plenty of good dogs at the pound that just want good homes and want to be loved. I was once against getting a dog at the pound but I have definitely done a 360 and encourage anyone to go your nearest animal shelter and just look at them. You’ll find one that melts your heart and that dog will be your best companion.

Parents please raise your kids with some discipline

I say this with the utmost respect to parents, but I ask, please raise your kids with some discipline, respect and a sense of morality. I’m not going to tell people exactly how to raise their kids or what type of discipline they need especially since I am not yet a parent but it seems nowadays that kids are totally out of control. It is a rarity to go places and see kids actually behaving. When I go to the movies, some child is screaming his head off, not to mention he probably shouldn’t see the movie in the first place. Or when I go to restaurant, I seem to almost always get seated next to the crying baby whose parents choose to sit there and let them cry while they finish their meal and are completely disrespectful and oblivious to everyone else in the restaurant. You see them throwing temper tantrums in stores and the parents do nothing in the form of punishment. Now don’t get me wrong, I love kids and look forward to the day I have my own but come on, we have to do a better job at raising them. I am not asking that parents should mistreat their kids, not even close, I am saying that they need to have discipline, structure and some respect for others. When parents go out with there kids, wherever it is, please make sure they behave appropriately. Not only is it out of respect for others around you but it also looks good on you as parents as well.
